As demand for faster, more reliable communication grows, fiber optic infrastructure is becoming essential. This program prepares you to work in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber networks.

Through hands-on training and structured progression, you'll develop the skills needed to support modern communication systems and power grid connectivity.

What You'll Learn

Skills that translate straight to the field

You'll gain experience across the full lifecycle of fiber infrastructure, progressing from foundations to advanced network environments.

Introduction to Fiber (3 wks)

Foundational training in fiber preparation, splicing, testing, and reading construction drawings. Required before any additional course.

Middle Mile (1 wk)

Installing passive devices, mid-sheath fiber entry, and advanced fiber testing.

Last Mile (1 wk)

Drop placement to home or business, mechanical/fusion splicing, ONT installation, and Tier 1 troubleshooting.

Long Haul (1 wk)

Ribbon fiber preparation and splicing, fiber jetting, and reading ribbon fiber documentation.

Pole Climbing & Ladder Safety (2 wks)

Pole climbing, ladder safety, and working aloft for non-electrical workers.

How Training Works

Hands-on, real-world, job-ready

Training is delivered through hands-on instruction and mobile lab experiences. You'll work with real equipment, participate in interactive learning modules, and receive guidance from experienced instructors. Credentials are recognized through the ACCS.
